A little piece of Workplace First Aid training all the way from Fiji!
Phil and the family have just returned after a beautiful holiday in Fiji where they met Simon (on the left).
Simon β€˜banana’ is a lifeguard/activity coordinator at the resorts pool. After a minor incident at the pool where someone needed some basic first aid treatment, Phil soon realised that the team had limited access to first aid supplies.
Phil gifted Simon one of our comprehensive first aid kits so things could be a bit more β€˜at the ready!’
This lovely video was sent to us from Simon and his friend Kala.
Thanks so much Simon for being so awesome πŸ™ŒπŸΌ
Who knows... The beautiful Fiji may be a centre for Workplace First Aid training some day soon πŸ‡«πŸ‡―

Some important information in regards to the Vigil held for the Victims of the Christchurch Mosque shooting.
The vigil begins at 7pm tonight at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
The Workplace First Aid team will be in attendance to show our support as well as ensure everyone gets to the vigil safely. Here are some important details about tonight’s vigil at Forsyth Barr Stadium. You are welcome to bring a candle or use an LED candle or use your mobile phone torch. Please make sure you have a holder for your candle and take it home at the end of the vigil. Many people have been leaving flowers at the mosque and the Octagon. If you would like to bring flowers tonight, you can leave them at the front by the stage at the end of the service. They will be picked up on Friday and taken to the Octagon. There will be collection buckets outside the stadium gates tonight if you would like to make a donation. All money collected will be passed on to the Otago Muslim Association and the local mosque for needs such as travel to Christchurch to support victims and families, mosque maintenance and additional support services. All women are welcome to wear hijab to the vigil if they would like to. For more information: www.dunedin.govt.nz/standingtogether

Congratulations to our winner Amri! Amri entered our Tent City competition and correctly guessed the number of CPR face shields in the jar - 126!
Last night we dropped him his prize, a feed of pizzas for his flat and a free first aid course. Flat mate of the year we reckon!

Being prepared is so important as you never know when a disaster may strike. Our friends at Otago Civil Defence are giving away one of the customised First Aid kits that we developed alongside them. All you have to do is name the three most important things that you would take with you in an emergency 🚨
Be sure to head over to their page to enter and be prepared!Thursday thought - have you planned what to do if you had to leave home in a hurry because of a fire, flood or other emergency? Yeah - nah? Well, here's something to kickstart your thinking. Decide what are the three most important things you would take if you had just 30 minutes to evacuate your family, share them in the comments section, and we'll put you in the draw to win this first aid kit. Update 1 March - Thanks everyone for sharing your evacuation priorities. Your next job is to make sure that your family knows what to do - a good conversation starter this weekend! Linley Hattrill is our winner of the first aid kit.
